Illinois Grade School Music Association - Southern Division
The purpose of the Illinois Grade School Music Association, Southern Division, shall be to encourage, aid, and further music education in the elementary, middle, and junior high schools in the State of Illinois.
This Association sponsors contests among elementary, middle, and junior high school bands, orchestras, choruses, soloists, and ensembles in the Districts of the Southern Division. Annually, the Association conducts a final or State Contest, bringing together the qualifying participants of the Districts.
With over 200 member schools from 52 counties in the southern half of the State of Illinois, this association is run by music educators for the children that we teach.
Membership Dues required for Contest Participation Membership dues for the 2008 - 2009 school year are $80.00. If you did not receive your membership letter, or you would like your school to be a member of the Illinois Grade School Music Association - Southern Division, and participate in solo & ensemble or organization contests, Click Here to contact Secretary - Treasurer, Gene Hill. Gene will send you a membership packet. Fill out the requested data, have your administrator sign the form and return it with the check for $80.00 and enjoy the benefits your students will gain by participating in IGSMA sponsored contests.
Remember, Membership is REQUIRED for participation in District or State contests!

Attend the 69th Annual State Meeting
Make plans now to attend the 69th annual State Meeting of the Illinois Grade school Music Association will be held at the Holiday Inn in Collinsville, Illinois. The meeting will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008, beginning at 9:30 AM. (Click the link on the left for map and address) The Executive Council will meet on Sunday, November 2 at 3:00 PM.
